Memoir 44 Base Set
If you love wargaming and want something that gives you the enjoyment of 10 hours of game play in 20-30 minutes sessions instead then you definately need to give this a try. Peices are durable and detailed and the boards and tiles are very well made. The whole product down to its insert with pockets for units, cards, terrain hexs, and dice is very professional.
I have played it over 10 times with my 10 year old in the few days since I got it and he LOVES It! It is the perfect pace for kids with very short turns that keep them from getting distracted/bored.
Only caveat... most of the expansions are very rare and Days of Wonder is VERY secretive about whether they are going to rerelease them... however most of the scenerios can be found online. I was able to find the Pacific Theater, Mediterannean Theater, Terrain Pack, and Winter/Desert board on ebay with free shipping that made my costs close to what retail would have been... now if I could just find that darn unicorn The Equipment Pack"...

Wish it had a native 2 player version but the variants you find online work well so all is good!
