good background book

The book describes the program well with interesting case studies but does not actually give the curriculum for sessions. It is written in easy to understand terms.

Amusing, interesting book for youth

I use this book for my combined 5th/6th graders. We read together and discuss. It is amusing, has unexpected twists, and offers insight into different types of people. It teaches that everyone is different and has their own strengths and weaknesses. Prejudice is exposed and the ability of people to change. There are discussion questions in the back. I also created a study guide for vocabulary. Afterward I have the students create their curriculum as if they were students at the Creative Academy. I highly recommend it as an educational tool or just an enjoyable book to read. My students enjoy it also.
