Had to return the heads. One was completely worn out down to the head gap, not 'more worn' than the other one, which was marginally usable. Neither should have been sold, as they both had high hours on them. Seller did take them back and refunded promptly though.

Great value
Being the owner of a Neumann U-67, I am somewhat spoiled. I needed a quick replacement while the 67 went in for service and the price was right on the 214. As session singers on many albums, my partner and I always asked for 414’s on the dates because of the sparkle it gave our stacked harmonies. The 214 sounds a bit “scooped” to my ears and the frequency response chart does show some peakiness at around 12 Kh. Still a very good mic for the price.

Disappointed
I've had pretty good luck with T.C. Electronic products. I bought this pedal on the strength of T.C.'s reputation, and the "tri-chorus" feature which is something I used as a patch base on my Line 6 MM-4 to try to emulate an A/DA. For me, the chorus (or flanger) device that all others are measured by is the beloved A/DA which disappeared for years and is now being reissued. I had hoped to hear the same lush chorusing from this unit that I achieved with my MM-4, but I did not - even after hours of tweaking. One undesirable characteristic that seems to prevail in cheaper chorus/flanger units is the 'vibrato' or repetitive sound you get when you push the 'depth'control. Supposedly, the "tri-chorus" masked this by using 3 separate choruses. One aggravating characteristic of this pedal (perhaps it is/was defective) is the "tone" control which did nothing other than behave as a mix control. All the way to the left and you get no chorusing at all! It's a well made unit and features the ability to download other users' patches. My only other gripe is the non-standard switch which does not feel or appear as rugged as the type used on most 'stomp-boxes'.
