Works
It works. Better than the original 1995 Kenmore/Whirlpool design.

Works well if you won't be bending the wand during use
I like it, but I have gotten use to the plastic ones which are flexible. This is solid, and bends a little more than I thought it would. If you are careful with it, I think you will like it. The plastic Solo brand wands are made well. I have only broken two of them over the years. Both times it was from basically getting run over by a vehicle. This stainless steel wand is not made for abuse. I like it a lot more than the plastic wands, except that it bends. I need to buy another backup wand, but I am not sure that I will get another stainless steel one.

Tachometer will not fit an International Farmall 450 gas tractor.
The distance between the tachometer mounting bracket holes for a factory International 450 gas tractor is 2.75". This tachometer/hour meter has mounting bolts which are about 2 17/32" apart where they exit the back of the tachometer housing. Or that is what they measured on the one I received. It is so far off that you just can't make it work without doing something.
If you look at my pictures, you will see that a separate square corners"U" shaped mounting bracket is also included, So this tachometer (which the outside diameter of the housing/can is 3 5/16") could be mounted in a 3 11/32" or 3 3/8" hole that was made in some steel plate. It would work perfectly like this. The holes in this mounting bracket are 2 9/16" apart, as you can see in the picture.
The tachometer I received also had two light socket holes coming out the back of the tachometer. One on top and one on the bottom. The picture of the back of the tachometer I ordered did not show this. One of the holes had a bulb socket along with a mini 12 volt bayonet base 3.4W bulb and the socket had a male spade blade so it would be easy to hook up electrical. The other hole had a rubber plug, but the socket fits both holes perfectly. An original Farmall 450 tachometer does not have sockets for light bulbs, and you can't really see your speed at night. I really liked this addition. Perhaps I should have rated this a good value.
You could make this fit a Farmall 450 gas by grinding out the factory mounting bracket. Perhaps with a Dremel/rotary tool. I see that some aftermarket sellers sell the mounting bracket, and that bracket appears to be shaped exactly like the factory original, Perhaps that bracket would have holes that would fit this tachometer. If you didn't want to ream out the holes on your original bracket, perhaps you could cut off the mounting stud bolts that are there, and wire weld on some new ones that are at the correct distance apart. These parts are galvanized.
Also, I said this was good quality. While visually it appears to be good quality on the outside, I don't know how long the inner workings will last.
