They still make them like they used to; it's worth paying a little more for quality!
This basin is sturdy, not flimsy, like the one I had previously. The rolled edges do not break away when emptying the basin. It is rigid enough to carry across a room when half filled .
It also does not discolor due to tomato sauce in the wash water.

Irish cooking supreme
This is a big, gorgeous cookbook full of wonderful traditional recipes. It minimalizes the problem of different names for ingredients, so it's a good choice for Americans (We still haven't figured out what pinhead oatmeal is, however). We have tried several recipes with great results, and plan a great feast for St. Patrick's Day. It's full of beautiful photos, so it's fun to peruse at leisure. If you don't cook, it's a great coffeetable book!
