Does not fit 4.2 engine setup.

This sending unit does not fit a Jeep 4.2 engine setup. This sending unit has a bracket intended for holding the fuel pump for newer Jeep models with the 4.0 engine that has the fuel pump located inside the gas tank. Not the side of the engine. The instructions included attempt to explain how to set everything up to fit the 4.2 setup, but are incredibly inaccurate. The parts included, specifically the filter screen and the extension hose do not even fit together due to inner diameter differences. Not to mention that even if they did, your fuel pickup line would be over 4 inches higher than the bottom of the tank! Leaving all that fuel in your tank with no way to supply it to the engine. Because again, they expect you to put a fuel pump in there. The only way I was able to make this the correct length was to fabricate a piece of tygothane tubing to extend the fuel filter lower into the tank. Please see the attached pictures and do not purchase if you are attempting to replace a fuel sending unit for your Jeep 4.2 engine setup.
