Great but slow
So great a camera, I replaced the same one I lost. Not fast by any means, but features I highly value. Though it is warterproof, get a floating strap. I own numbers of cameras; this one is always with me.

4 of 4 found this helpful This "KODAK Professional DCS Pro 14n" digital SLR finally satisfied my love of what I yearned for in film photography. Not just higher resolution, Its other features are phenomenal. First, its full-size 35mm frame CMOS sensor enables proper use of my expensive 24-120mm Nikon D lens and my coupled Nikon SB-28 "speed-light"(s)with its DTTL-enabled hot shoe. It is the ONLY digital camera I know of that ALSO has a "pc" X-sync connection. This enables me to use my older 3 watt/second ARMATRON flash gun. The intervalometer is fun to use As Is the practical cable release (it has both cable and electric release AND wireless shutter release. Beyond that, it can be operated from another far location via your computer if coupled with its interactive Fire-Wire. It can record simultaneously onto two memory cards (CF & SD) in any combination of JPEG & TIFF formats. Of course, the more it is asked to do, slows its operation (no great concern for the finest of studio location work). For faster field work, use the memory cards individually, disable the LCD screen, use less than its 14 MP potential, etc, etc. Another novel feature is its ability to automatically record location information when connected to a GPS satellite tracking device. I know of ONLY one other (speciallty) camera with this GPS ability, and that camera has no other comparable features as this "KODAK Professional DCS Pro 14n". Though out of production, a comfort in its purchase is the customer friendly KODAK promise of free FIRM WARE up-grades on-line. I use this camera ALONG with my old favorite Nikon F80 film camera since it is very much akin to it. A great purchase if one can be found in good condition with a lower shutter activation count number. Any reputable seller can provide this information.
