The Moomin stories are a wonderful fantasy world created by Tove Jansson that children can enjoy reading, and adults can enjoy reading to them. It is not a bubble-gum world of all sweetness and light, but one created in the Arctic world of Finland, a world of great light summer and long dark winters. Events don't always turn out as we might wish in fairy tales, but with the understanding, That's how life is.
