DECOY is great little known Film Noir
2 of 2 found this helpful IMO Decoy is one of the best little known Film Noirs around. Rarely seen Jean Gillie plays hands down one of the best femme fatales (bad girls) you'll ever see. She's the ultimate definition of a cold, heartless gold digger supreme. The film keeps a good action pace. If you like to see something you don't normally see as part of the plot then this like "DOA" will pay off for you. On this disc you also get the bonus of Sterling Hayden in "Crime Wave" which is also quite good but Decoy is the score here.

Very Good Robert Mitchum Cross Section of films
1 of 1 found this helpful A very good set of the great Robert Mitchum.-- With One exception the films in this set are well done and entertaining. -- From Australian Frontier to Film Noir to Japanese Yakuza gangsters there is a good cross section of Genres. -- Best are "Yakuza", Angel Face and Home from the hill ( where we also get a nice performance from George Peppard ( Banacek / Breakfast at Tiffany's etc.) -- All Films come in clear Slim cases. -- The prints aren't exceptional but very watchable.--Audio is fine.

Scarlet Street is Good Noir
Good Film Noirs are hard to find and Scarlet Street is a very good one.-- Edward G.-Robinson puts in good work here as the sap who falls for the young pretty girl(Joan Bennett.-- She pretends to be romanticly interested in him while conning him out of every dollar. When in reality she's head over heals in love with her pimp boyfriend (Dan Duryea).--The great Fritz Lang directs and torments the censors of the day here. The ending is very good and different.
