Dark Enough
They are as good as I've ever gotten elsewhere in recent yeas. Printing adding-machine ribbons are never dark enough for my liking.I don't know if it's a function of the ribbon or the machine. However These are as good as anything I've gotten at Staples, and the price can't be beat. They fit my Sharp EL 1197PIII perfectly.

Too Soft to Work Properly
These erasers are a soft rubber--softer than the the kind you get at an office supply store. The tip flip flops from side to side as you erase. You have to move your finger down to the eraser to hold it in place to get it to work. Then as the tip wears down, the middle portion is very soft and folds over itself as you try to erase. It is useless for erasing and you have to cut that part off to get to the firmer bottom third. But soon after you do that the eraser develops stress cracks where it meets the pencil and starts breaking apart, at which point you can only throw it away. Very disappointing. i will have to either buy the real deal or make fewer mistakes.

Perfect Solution
I wanted a countdown timer for the space heater in my basement office so if I forget to turn it off the timer will do it. I first tried a digital countdown timer and that one actually never shut off, even when the time ran out. Returned the digital one and then I saw this old-school analog timer. It's foolproof! Works like a charm, looks great, inexpensive, reliable, easy to use--everything I wanted. It's rated for 15 amps/1875 watts. My Presto Heat Dish from Costco draws 8 amps/1000 watts, so perfect! This little $10 timer saved me from having to sell my house and move to Florida. Well worth the price!
