Wow! They really are stainless steel
I really wanted stainless steel racks and these appear to be exactly that. OK, OK, the description says stainless but sometimes people think shiny plating means stainless. I checked and they are non-magnetic which indicates they are stainless. So far, they work well for the intended purpose.

Halogen Beacons Are Tried and Ture
I tried some LED units and liked the features (multiple flash patterns, low current draw, etc.) but the LED units that were affordable just didn't have the OOMPH I was looking for - I mean, if it's just barely noticeable during daylight hours, what good is it? The ECCO 5813 is a Class 1 beacon which, as far as I know, is the brightest class. OK, the halogen bulbs won't last forever - They're rated for 400 hours. But I found replacement bulbs for 50 cents so that's no problem! The magnet in the 5813 base is STRONG. The belt drive makes for fairly simple and inexpensive maintenance as well. It fits my needs and is a much better value than most other Class 1 beacons.
