A Home Scale Worth Every Penny
4 of 4 found this helpful Very pleased with this scale. Easy to use and very accurate. Worked right out of the box. I placed a letter I wanted to mail on it, and it weighed it as 2.5 oz. When I took the letter to the post office for mailing, their scale said the letter weighed 2.5 oz. That's good enough for me.
Scale can weigh from 0.1 ounce all the way up to 55.0 pounds, so it can be used for larger packages as well as weighing food portions. Plus it has a "hold" feature that will keep the measured weight visible for about 5 seconds after you remove any item that extends past the viewing screen. It can also read in metric weights from 5 grams to 21.6 kg. Plus, for those of you who are foodies, there is also a Tare feature so you can place a bowl or similar container on it, and the scale will subtract its weight so you can accurately weigh whatever you want to put into the container (cubed meats, flour, fruits or cut vegetables, for example).
The scale functions totally digitally and provides results almost as fast as you can put things on it to weigh. Comes with two standard AA batteries (already installed) and also includes a small transformer so the scale can be used with house power (thus saving on batteries). It also has an on/off button for controlling when you need it to weigh something..
For both the price and the convenience, this is worth the price (I got mine for $23--and that included priority shipping).

A Book Any WWI Enthusiast Will Want on Their Shelf
This book turned out being much better than I thought it would be. Compelling photos with great clarity plus a clear and concise history of the the years from 1914 to 1918 that includes why the war began, a comprehensive timeline of the war years, how it finally ended and why, and the eventual aftermath.

LG - Great reader/burner for a reasonable price
I was leery at first about buying an external read/write optical drive for my laptop when my internal, factory-installed drive gave up after nearly 10 years of service. But I'm glad I went ahead and got it because it does as well as (and maybe even better than) the internal drive. The laptop "saw" the drive almost right away. It took my DVD writing software a few tries before it also recognized the new drive, but once it did, I have had no problems at all. What I like most of all is how much quieter it is than the internal drive had been. It is also much slimmer, so it takes up much less room than I thought it would. It is also VERY quiet when burning a disk, and in most cases, if it weren't for the flashing LED light when it IS burning, I would hardly know it was running. Inserting a DVD disk (and it will accept just about all kinds) is as simple as snapping it into place on the spinner hub and then clicking the tray closed. When the burn is complete, the tray automatically opens for easy removal of the newly-minted DVD. And I do believe the video and sound quality come out even better with the LG drive.
