What can I say, it's toilet paper. I've been using the same brand for years and I have no issues. I"ll let you know if anything develops otherwise.

William Morris Merton Blue 137cm Pvc / Oilcloth Round Floral Tablecloth.

A very nice tablecloth. But not true oilcloth.
This tablecloth is very nice, especially so with the William Morris flowered pattern.
Far different than most of the ordinary patterns and designs out there. However, the material is not true oilcloth that is made from linseed oil. Rather, it is, as the ad states, "pvc," polyvinyl chloride. That can be sort of nice, too. You can easily wipe off ordinary spills, leaving no stain or mark. It does the job, looks good and I am sure will last many years (But there is a cost for this longevity; more on this later).
I was looking for a traditional oilcloth tablecloth that is softer and has a matte or satin finish. This "pvc" is a bit stiffer than true oilcloth and is glossy and shiny. Because it is somewhat stiffer, it does not hang as well over the table edges as a true oil cloth would. Also, the creases in the tablecloth caused by folding it in the packaging remain even after the reverse side is ironed with a warm iron and after a few weeks use. Perhaps these issues will work out over time.
Also, the fabric label says "50% PVC/50% cotton." Presumably, the 50% cotton is the "lining."
I would call it more of a "backing." Whatever, it's not much. It does not make the tablecloth totally opaque. This is also unlike true oilcloth which typically has a more substantial, almost felt like, cloth lining. You can somewhat see thru this tablecloth. As a result, and this does not much matter on my table, it may matter with the color of darker or bright colored table tops showing thru and clashing with the light blue flowered pattern.
Also, polyvinyl chloride is a petroleum based, fossil fuel product, unlike linseed oil which is plant based. As a result, this tablecloth is for sure durable, along with contributing to climate change. Well, at least the "backing" on this table cloth is cotton, not polyester.
I would buy this tablecloth again, albeit not as nice as I was looking for. Just be aware what you are buying. And by the way, true oil cloth would surely cost more than this tablecloth.
