Sleek and simple design
The design is very minimal, not much space for labels. It's solid construction but not key-ring material. The included encryption software is simple and useful. Write speeds can be a bit slow in a Windows 7x64 environment depending on the file types and sizes. Encryption speeds are slow as well. Hopefully this is an indication of the encryption quality/security. It's read speed is where it shines - video files play smoothly all the way through and huge amounts of data can be pulled in a flash.

Very delicate, lightweight, cheaply-made
Don't expect to get many disconnect/reconnects out of this item as it's construction is very cheap. There was a loud cracking sound as I connected one of the cables to an audio input. I expect it was a soldering point breaking loose. The misaligned jacks indicate rushed assembly. Hook it up once and hope you never have to reconfigure this cheap product again.

Powerful, Versatile and Inexpensive
There is a more powerful version of the 8540w, the Q820, but it has trouble running most games. This mid-tier example (M620) is great not only as an inexpensive gaming laptop, but also smoothly runs high-end design applications like 3ds Max and is a capable digital audio workstation.
