1 of 1 found this helpful I like reconditioned items when buying many electronics. I have never had a bad experience and there usually is no penalty to pay in performance. In this case there is no "newer" version and to get one from ATT takes two month minimum (this is true of Verizon also). This one came in a couple of days. Easy to set up. We are in a remote area of coastal SC and our DSL performs about as well as a 1980s phone modem. This offers 4G speed and is a huge improvement over our DSL. WE don't do a lot of streaming beyond binge watching some TV shows and our DSL has always limited us to SD quality so we are fine with SD which conserves data. Upgraded to the newly available unlimited data plan and have not come close to busting the upper limit yet (after 25Gb in a month they restrict your use a bit). All in all a great device for our situation.
