FSX for pilot training
6 of 7 found this helpful I am taking flying lessons and wondered if FSX would hlep. It does on a few things and not others. Its a game thats almost a training siumulator. I installed a model for the plane I train in, Piper Tomahawk. FSX does help me with familarization with the gauges and controls; the rudder pedal action is pretty good practice for steering on the taxi takeoff. Turns and landing flares are not much like the real airplane controls ....or maybe I just need to work on adjusting the pitch and aileron sensitivity. I think the problem with judging landing flares is the lack of realistic distance perception. Overall, I guess its worth the investment. I bought a yoke and rudder pedals from CH products and they work ok.
