The Yellow
1 of 1 found this helpful The Yellow is one of my favorite blades, along with the Polsilver, Gillette Platinum, and GSB. It's just a tiny bit sharper than most of the other high-end Gillette blades, while still being comfortable and reasonably forgiving. I find it cuts closer and is a bit more efficient than other sharp blades, and works in any razor from mild to aggressive. It's a little more expensive than some other blades out there, but at least to me, it's worth the premium.

Great cologne.
This was a blind buy for me, but I'm sure glad I bought it. Eau Sauvage is known as a classic, and maybe "the" classic; it's been around for half a century!
It opens a little harsh in my opinion (bright, strong lemon-dominated citrus) but in 5-10 minutes that evolves to pleasant mid-notes. It's really after the dry-down (30 to 60 minutes) that this cologne shines - the scent gets complex, subtle, and sophisticated. One thing that's super-cool about this cologne is its flexibility. It can be worn in any season or any environment, though it's probably best for spring/summer. It isn't a youthful "clubbing" scent - it's really more of a traditional, adult scent. It can easily be worn for casual, non-work scenarios and won't offend anyone - honestly, nobody dislikes the scent of Eau Sauvage, as far as I can tell. It's worth noting that the price is very reasonable -- a third the price of a bottle of Creed and not noticeably less sophisticated or lower quality. I do own 4 Creeds, for comparison purposes.
I think this is a good choice for people who don't like to chase trends and want a cologne on the shelf that is solid, traditional, and time-tested. Not that it's boring and old, more that it's kind of universal in appeal and outside the realm of trend-chasing.

Gillette Platinum
This particular Russian Gillette blade flies under the radar on the shaving sites - there are probably 100 posts about yellows, Polsilvers, Silver Blues, 7 O'Clock blacks, etc., for every 1 post about Gillette Platinums. Which is unfortunate because it's a fine blade, possibly my favorite (or at least tied with polsilvers). Smooth and extremely forgiving, sharp enough to get a BBS shave, and reasonably priced. A fantastic blade you probably never heard of, because they're rarely even included in sampler packages!
