Good overall product with a couple of minor issues
I picked up this board as a cheap upgrade for an old computer I use to play videos on.
I am using the board under Ubuntu Linux 12.04.
Overall its a pretty good board, fairly basic but works well and MSI driver support is as always pretty good. There is one exception, the on board video is pretty low end. That's easy enough to fix with a PCI-e x16 video card, so its not a big problem.
I purchased the board with a basic single core hyper threading 775 Intel processor. I'm sure there will be no problem getting a dual or quad core CPU for the board at a low cost.
Layout of the board is pretty good but should you want to use a 24pin power supply to run one of these you will need an adapter as there is a cap in the road at that end of the 20 pin plug on the board where the extra pins on the 24pin would over hang the 20 pin socket.
I would recommend getting a back plate with the board as it can be hard to find the exact one cheap, as there are plates that look real similar but have slightly different connector spacing.
One thing I would have liked but is missing on the board is a PCI-e x1 slot. This is not a big problem as there are two standard PCI slots and most cheap add in cards are available PCI.
As for speed, well that's a hard one to judge as I am not doing anything that uses major CPU overhead for the most part. I run a few basic games. All types of video's seem to play well including HD 1080p which can have problems on some single core systems as it is really setup for multithreaded decoding.
I also like the SIS chipset, I've had a few problems with USB external hard drives on VIA chipsets.
One note. If upgrading an old system you may need to replace the power supply as some cheap power supplies have too small a wire gauge on the motherboard cable, even though they have high enough wattage to run the board. What happens is the wires get hot, and can cause problems and possibly data loss.
This board should fit in just about any ATX case as its the smaller form factor.

A good upgrade for those old 775 boards.
I have an old Intel 775 board, I found out that it only supports older single or dual core chips. Ihis was the fastest chip I could find for the board. While the spec doesn't seem much better over the 2.8Ghz chip I originally had, it seems much zippier than I expected. I use the computer under Ubuntu mainly for internet and watching videos.

Western Digital Caviar Green (WD7500AACS) 750GB SATA HD
I have been working with computers since the mid 80's and have had great luck with western digital products, both for my own use and as parts for sold computers.
WD makes good products, with good prices, and the WD7500AACS is no exception, its quiet, fast, and if it is even half as long lived as other western digital products, it will serve me long after its expected lifespan.
The drives green functions are a plus, as WD has not made any noticable sacrifices in speed or quality.
While you can never be sure of a hard drives quality without several years of use, In the time I've had this product it has preformed as expected with no problems what so ever.
The drive was factory partitioned and ready for use, so those using them in an external case will have no problems gettting the drive setup.
In short a good product, at a good price.
