For fish breeders.

This is a must have all the time item. It has all the nutrients fry need to grow. Live foods are excellent also. The more variety the better. First Bites is much easier to keep than live food for fry and easier for fry to eat because it's a very fine power. Even if you're not breeding fish it's always a good idea to have a pack handy. You may wake up one morning and see a big surprise of some type of fry in you're aquarium. This way you will have something for them to eat right then and there while trying to make a culture of live fry food. Besides, it's not expensive either. Always keep a pack handy...just in case.

It didn't last long

I bought a 30" about 5 months ago and yesterday it stopped working. Aren't these things supposed to last a long time?

Everything You would expect, .......But.

Durability is good. It will last a few years like the one that just went out on me. The only thing I don't like about it is that the bulb has a green tint, making the water and everything else look a little murky. I guess it's that color to inhibit the growth of algae. When this one goes bad I'll buy an LED Strip. The ones that I have on some of my other tanks have a nice white light making the colors of my fish pop and my live plants seem to grow faster.
