poor restoration part
nominally functional with modification. mounting studs are too long, hitting heater box assembly when mounted to proper bracket. Must be cut off to be of any use.
module is devoid of studs that are supposed to be located next to vacuum ports. The studs connect rubber retainers built on the ends of original vacuum lines, ensuring lines cannot be inadvertently pulled off when other things are being moved/repair/replaced in the nearly inaccessible depths or the 69 Corvette center/main instrument consoles. Useable, but lacks the attention to detail expected in all concourse restorations for vehicles of this genre.
finally, when the retaining sheet metal nuts are screwed onto the too-long studs, they easily loosen in their "press fit" installation in the metal diaphragm body, creating an entirely unheard of leak in the vacuum system with forty year old parts, or parts manufactured to original specification. Can be fixed with sodering only, possible expoxy, to secure and seal the studs.
typical junk produced by people who assumes "lifetime guarantee" means "five years"....as they assume no one keeps cars longer than that. This valve is obviously used a number of places as a substitute part in several GM cars of this vintage, in everything from air vents, to air conditioning valves, to this defroster/heater control valve. Used for a lot of things, not particularly perfect for 1969 Corvette defroster vacuum actuator w/o air conditioning. I already submitted this feedback to the vendor....happy to see eBay wants more. Hope you get the word out.

Good discount value on eBay for required building hardware
Because Simpson makes good hurricane quality items, and because it was half price in some cases on eBay. Critical to my building project and overpriced in normal avenues.
