The VidBox saved the day...and the recordings!
I bought this because my VHS/DVD player wasn't able to dub videos to dvd any more. The technology is old and this helped me record them to my MacBook Pro and then copy them to a DVD. The only problem, and it might be the DVDs, is that some of the DVDs would not play on a DVD player to view on TV. Some did and some didn't. I could definitely play them on my MBP on which they were recorded, so again, it might be some incompatibility with old and new technology, but it did give me a way to preserve old family videos. The VidBox is very easy to use though, no big problem setting it up and easy to follow instructions as it leads you through the setup. It's actually better because it preserves them on the laptop and you can either make a DVD for backup storage or record to a flash drive. Either way, it's better than old VHS videos. One of my family tapes even snapped as I was rewinding it and had to take it apart and attach it to the reel, and of course, I was unable to get the back flap back on, but it still worked. Just once was enough to make the recording...LOL.
