Good films by one of Hollywoods great actors.
1 of 1 found this helpful Good films by one of Hollywood's great and unique actors of the 1940 to 1980's Golden age of Hollywood era. This was a mans man, a directors had him slap an actress in a scene once too often so he turned and slapped the director hard too see how he liked it and Howard Hughes ( Studio owner ) backed him up. Bob Mitchum always supported other actors and stage crews and was very well liked.

Very interesting series on how the British upper class lived before WW 1 changed everthing
Well acted and interesting series on how the British upper class lived and how they interacted with their servants who also interacted with each other. This whole system started to unravel after WW 1. Returning soldiers were not about to be pushed around and ruled over like they were in the past. The huge financial cost of the war along with millions of military deaths meant the end of financial handouts and tax breaks for the rich making them sell off their huge estates and live a much more modest live style. It also meant many of the colonies became independent and stopped sending money and free raw materials to England. The result was that the US became the largest economy and most powerful country in the world, a position that has only gotten stronger in the last 100 years.
