The Greatest Little Ring Flash ....well, ALMOST!
The design and sophistication of this VERY affordable dual-Xenon flash tube fired is right up there with the offerings from Nikon and Canon. Operation in all modes is intuitive, and in Program Exposure mode, metering is as accurate as the circuitry in your camera permits, although there is an odd tendancy to overexpose in S, A, and M modes) even when the same shutter speed and aperture as in P mode are set. VERY peculiar, this, and part of the reason it earned only 3 stars...which is my way of saying "save your money; keep on looking". And the main reason for that...the 'deal breaker', if you will, is the fact that while most of the plastic adapter rings (7 are supplied in the most common filter sizes) the 67mm rings have mishapen threads, causing them (yes, THEM...Mieke sent me two of them after reporting the problem with the first one!) to bind while fastening to your camera lens filter threads. In fact, the 67mm rings WILL NOT fasten securely, their soft plastic threads stripping away no matter how carefully you attempt to mount them, and all Mieke seems to care about is not getting 'negative feedback' based on his communications with me.
All isn't lost for this product...necessity being the mother of invention (and NOT Frank Zappa as is commonly believed) I discovered I COULD mount the flash firmly and securely by using larger diameter adapters in conjunction with the very inexpensive step down rings i.e. 72mm-67mm, and 58mm-55, available here on Ebay for about $2 each. The manufacturer has provided no actual 'fix' for thi problem, so frankly, I'm very glad I came up with this practical and inexpensive solution. But the point remains...it should NOT have been necessary for me to do so.
So, in conclusion, while it's a pretty decent product for the money, in light of the two issues I observed and noted here...3 stars is all ya' get, Mieke, and by rights, it should have been 2 1/2 stars!

Excellent budget DAC
This tiny coax/optical D to A converter might be the best value in digital audio. Built on the same Cirrus Logic DAC chip and analog line level preamp as many $500.00+ component DACs, this small and very inexpensive converter is compatible with both Toslink and coax digital audio inputs in multiple formats, is well made with quality parts, and amazingly has a particularly refined, 'high end' sound quality.
