Superior to overpriced filter cartridges
Still amazed I was spending $15 on premade filter cartridges for my aquarium when I could have just been cutting bits of sponge to size. I can probably get 24 filter shaped pieces from each of these sheets... for only $5 or so.

Deal of a lifetime
1 of 1 found this helpful I had been getting by using a cheap $15 vegetable knife from Big Lots that had gotten so pathetic, it couldn't even cut through chard on the first swipe. Since I chop tons of vegetables in a week, I needed a set that would easily and efficiently do the job day in day out. This brand was recommended to me by two different relatives who both had experience in the culinary industry. They recommended I get them professionally sharpened and they ought to last a lifetime. The knives are solid without being too heavy and very, very sharp - do not do what I did and feel tempted to scoot the chopped vegetable pieces off the blade with your finger!

Good filter but box is small
Filter was a little too small to fit my ceramic ring media, so I'm just using sponges for now. It's also a little noisy with a constant hum, and sometimes makes small splashing noises . If it weren't right next to my bed I probably wouldn't notice it, if it were across the room it'd be fine. It keeps my 5.5 gal clear even with a soil substrate. Just be sure to read the package instructions as you have to fill it with water before plugging it in, otherwise it will run dry and void the warranty.
