DIRECTV WILL NO LONGER ACTIVATE - BUYER BEWARE!
Tuner #2 does fail on most units eventually. HOWEVER, all the older "non-rid number" units have a BIIIIIGGG problem - Since mid 2010 DirecTV will no longer activate them on a new account. So, buyer beware. You are buying something you will not be able to activate. Call DirecTV "Activation Dept" to confirm this. NOTE: The CSRs are not very knowledgeable on this. Some know some don't. Ask for the Activation Dept. "rid" stands for receiver I.D.
The series 1&2 non-rid models affected are: DSR6000, DSR7000, DVR39, GXCEBOT, SAT-T60. There may be others.
