Nice unit, poor air connection, lack of charging cable
1 of 1 found this helpful I purchased this unit as a replacement for a Black and Decker Hot Shot with air that I had used for many years with out problems. I wanted to post a review to give a solution for the ridiculous screw on air connection so many reviewers speak of. Same experience for me where you lose air when unscrewing from your tire valve stem and also difficult to get the threading started on the valve stem. Just what you want to be doing in the freezing cold at night on an expressway!? Another gentleman posted a picture of an aftermarket air chuck with locking mechanism but I was pretty doubtful on this solution, as reviews for the said chuck spoke of leaking and the locking mechanism not holding it on the valve stem, thus requiring your hand to stay on it the whole time. I did not give up and found another company with a hose attachment that screws right into the screw on provided and works amazing. Identical to the connection on my BD Hotshot mentioned earlier. And its very reasonably priced. Type in: "LUMITECO Locking Tire Chuck" and you have found your solution! Two pictures attached. I used teflon tape on mine hence the white you see. Would have rated the unit 5 stars except for the screw on air connection, and the fact that no charging cable is provided (go to Home Depot). Be aware the Jump n Carry manufacturer uses a smaller size diameter air tubing for the unit, and most of the off the shelf stuff at Tractor Supply and so on will not work or connect. Last a personal opinion: I carry this unit and a special spare tire as I commute 2 hours at odd times middle of the night where I have to get to my job. I am disappointed that no manufacturer has come up with a high quality jump and air backup with solid systems and really good customer service. The reviews are all over the map for every brand you look at, with many problems and overall terrible customer service. I'm sure this is representative of the profit margin for a sale of each unit. I would have paid $75-100 more for a unit with consistent 5 star reviews and backed by no questions asked "We stand behind our product and will make it right" service.
