This is the no-compromise situation that I wanted
I upgraded from AM4 to this LGA1700 platform. I was faced with either getting a Ryzen 9 5900X and compromising on gaming performance or getting the 5700x3D and compromising on everything else. But with this Core i5 14600K, it has 14 cores and it boosts up to 5.3GHz right out of the box. It gives me good gaming performance AND good productivity performance. This is the no-compromise situation that I wanted on AM4 but it was not available. Also yes the LGA1700 platform is dead now but it's new enough still that it will last me just as long as a new platform would last and there's still room to upgrade up to a 14900K if I want to in the future.

It doubled performance for $3.95.
These Turion 64 X2 dual core processors add new life to old notebooks for a low price. I bought a Turion X2 TL-56 for only $3.95 including shipping and it doubled the performance of a laptop I was working on. These are definitely worth a look if you have a single core Turion in your system.
