NETGEAR N300 WiFi Wireless Network Range Extender Wall Plug Version WN3000RP

This extender really works - very good speed
I have tried a couple of range extender setups over the last couple years. This one is much simpler to setup then my hacked linksys router boxes. And very much faster than my ":Chinese" import. My "Chinese import" had very poor speed with comcast and intolerably slow (25K to 100k) with the new verizon setup . I was hoping, that this unit might be somewhat better. WOW was it ever better. Easy to setup and great speed 4-5 MB. ------------- These units do not come with a box or the full instruction manual. I encourage you to download the full instruction manual directly from d-link. There are a couple of things that I had to do to get my up and running properly. 1) I need to do a "factory reset" to clear a previous setup. Plug the unit in wait about one minute. Using a paper clip, press the reset button until the power led blinks amber/yellow. Wait about one minute then it is ready. Then just follow the instructions to set it up. 2) I did a firmware update (mine did not have the latest). ------------ This is a great hassle free unit!

CHEAP - maybe too cheap to survive
Just got 2 of these, price was very low 2 for $1.16. The connectors are gold plated and have a good snapping action. The negative, is the wire are on a flat cable (about 3/16") and fairly thin. The cable appears to be completely unshielded. These may work fine with headphones. However I would expect them to fail sooner than latter. IMHO they are NOT OK for low signal applications.

Older cheap phone with GREAT BATTERY LIFE
This is an older Samsung phone with only 2GB storage, slow processor and all that. Speaker phone is GOOD. Camera is fair. Very light and small form factor. Battery life is GREAT. Several days on one charge.
