Best sub 100 spinning reel on the market. Period.
1 of 1 found this helpful These excelers are freaking amazing. The last time I bought spinning reels, I bought the abu revo rocket spinning reels. This time I didnt have $200 per reel to drop, plus I dont use spinning reels nearly as much as casters. I had switched all my casting reels to daiwa sv tws, and im so happy with daiwa, I started researching the spinning reels. The most important feature of these reels for finesse fishing with light line is the drag. Its 22lbs, and just as smooth as the stradics that almost everyone uses, if not smoother. It feels good in the hand, i’ll put this $70 reel against a $250 stradic any day of the week. I like it just as much and its got more lbs of drag.

Shimano knocks it out the park
Made of the quality and workmanship you expect from shimano. For everyone who is a kastking fanboy, take one of their reels and put it next to a shimano. Shimano is crisp, precise, no play, etc. kastkings are janky, they seem loose, they rattle, etc. shimano has very low tolerances, everything is made to perfection. As for this dc reel, it casts a mile. My first dc reel, i love it, absolutely love it. You can still get backlashes on lowest setting, but thats what its for, extra loose for extra control. This thing owns. I dont think i’ll use anything but shimano reels after this.

My favorite reel ever
Ive always loved the daiwa sv tws tatulas, i bought this for freshwater fishing because the spool is a little bigger, and it is my favorite sv out of all of them. I love this reel, daiwas brakes are far superior to anyone elses including shimanos. You cant hardly backlash this reel even casting into a windstorm. I love this reel, it is a joy to cast. I put it on a 7’4 phenix m1 2020 rod, the long light rod just floats the bait out there.
