Comparative Study Bible by Zondervan Staff 1999, Hardcover, Revised edition

Excelent translations One volume. Side by side. Good printing.

This version of the comparative Bible has 4 solid translations and is well laid out. If I had the money and knew about this in 1999 I probably would have bought it then. I ended up waiting. This is a solid resource. KJV - in its timeless format. Please note that the meaning of some words from the Old english have changed over time. AMPC - 1987 Version of the Amplified Bible. Now considered the Classic version. Solid resource and should be read in companion with another translation anyway. NASB - 1995 Version. Solid and streight forward. Modern enough for the meanings to be understood. Literal enough for Idioms to stand out. NIV - 1984 Version. This is the last update of the NIV I will read. After this date they went progressive. I just wish the print size were 1 size bigger, but that would have made the book 15% bigger too. Its just enough to read at 8 pt. 9pt would have been more comfortable. I can cope.

Solid and highly useful Study Bible ESV.

This is a solid layout of Scripture and Study aids. The modern color printing stands out and helps with study. This is not a JR Bible by any means. And not dumbed down. It does lack a cross refference colomb like some other study bibles. BUT the reference notes and study aids are good quality and include references to other scripture. I do recommend. Plus if you can get one under $20 it is an outstanding value. God bless.
