Funny smell, seems used, but I recommend it.
1 of 1 found this helpful The TV arrived much earlier then expected, that was great. When I opened the box, I immediately noticed a burn electronic smell. The packaging all looked new, but with the smell, I wonder if the TV was new, refurbished or one that was repaired.
After setting up the TV, installing the batteries in the remote, I went to power on the TV using the remote. Surprise, the batteries for the remote were dead. I replaced the AAA batteries and the TV powered on. The TV was set in Spanish language. Thankfully there was a manual, which allowed me to navigate the setup and change the language.
The TV works fine, but it has a shinny screen, which reflects the natural sunlight coming into the room. I have to set the back-light option to High in order to compensate for that. With a bit more tuning of various video settings, the picture does look really good with high definition movies. With normal or older DVD's which do not put out the picture quality the image is pixellated or grainy in appearance.
Other than the points mentioned, it seems to be working very well for now, so I give it 3 stars. It is a great TV for the price.
It is NOT equipped as a Smart TV, meaning it does not have WiFi technology. For me, that is a bonus, as I don't want extra RF in the house.
For the price, I really can't complain, only note the nuances with the product. I wouldn't say that any of those make me want to return it. I would still recommend purchasing this TV if you are looking for a low budget very good picture quality TV.
Sound is not at great as some people have stated in other reviews I've seen online. But it is adequate for now. Maybe a sound bar would be a great improvement, but for now I'm content.

1 of 1 found this helpful Obviously one must be a Star Wars fan to enjoy the trilogy. Blue ray on a large screen puts the show in my home. Add the right sound bar system and you have your own theater to enjoy the movies. Popcorn optional.
