A Well of Wells
Everybody is familiar with H. G. Wells's novels like "War of the Worlds", "Invisible Man", etc.; but not as many know that he wrote a lot of very good short stories, too. Most are science fiction and a little fantasy. This volume is a great collection of over 1,000 pages, the complete short stories. One of the stories, "The Land Ironclads", is an early tale of tank warfare before there was such a thing. Like Verne, Wells was a visionary and a prophet. I highly recommend this collection as a great read for young and old.

A Streetcar I Desired
Previn has written a totally fitting adaptation of the classic American play. This is one of the more listenable of the modern operas. I've had the CDs of this; but I really wanted to see it. Renee Fleming is great as Blanche; and her aria toward the end is one of my favorite arias ever. Hot, steamy, sultry, and sexy...makes for a dynamic opera. This is the world premier performance and recording, in my city, San Fran; and a good one it was. Lay back, watch and listen, and fan yourself...

THE Lincoln Log
I am so happy to have this 10-volume set in such a convenient format. If you try to get this set, the books are really expensive. This CD-ROM is very well formatted to be easy to read and easy to navigate. These are the books that the movie "Lincoln" drew from. I highly recommend this CD-ROM for anyone interested in the real Lincoln.
