What Nintendo should've included with the New 2DS XL
Nintendo acknowledged that the size of the original 3DS stylus was going to be super small, so they made that one telescopic. Unfortunately, they didn't carry that idea over to the New Nintendo 2DS XL. This 6-pack of telescopic styluses (stylii?) is probably your best bet if you want something more comfortable to hold for your New 2DS XL. It fits nice and snug inside of the New 2DS XL's stylus slot, and extends to a length that's much more comfortable to hold.

Great little system at a great little price
The New Nintendo 2DS XL is a great budget handheld console. The game/software library for the Nintendo 3DS family is expansive, and that's not even including the support for legacy DS/DSi games. It fits comfortably in your hands. As the name suggests, there's no support for 3D visual effects, but many games started foregoing it later in its lifespan (notable Nintendo titles include Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, WarioWare Gold, and the mainline Pokémon games— outside of battles, anyways), and it helps save battery life.
The reduced price of these refurbished consoles makes it even better. Don't let that word scare you off; this thing is basically new. Nintendo warns that you might end up with a console that has a smidge of wear and tear from a former life, but from my experience (and many others'), there's nothing. This thing is as good as new, with a warranty to boot. The only catch I see is the box isn't the same as a retail box, but who cares? Most people throw that out anyways.
Now, there are a couple of things that bother me. The stylus is very short. You might want to consider getting a third party one that telescopes. The battery is also not user-replaceable; you'll need to find somebody with Nintendo's trusty tri-wing screwdriver, or send it to Nintendo for a battery swap. (It uses the same battery as the rest of the 3DS family, part number CTR-003, but there's also an obnoxious sticky pad.) At least you don't have to remove the back cover to take out the microSD card though, like the New Nintendo 3DS XL!
