Thinking visually-clearly demonstrated
1 of 1 found this helpful Edward Tufte is more than an undisputed master in visualization. This book, a continued outgrowth from his landmark book, "The Visual Display of Quantitative Information". Envisioning Information is very directed towards the designer, and I particularly like the section on "Small Multiples", a concept being used more and more by Web sites offering business information dashboards for comparison analysis.

Simple lens with a great effect
Great item, great price, and the delivery was fast and efficient. A fully manual lens with big "film" qualities, particularly for portrait pics or video--nice bokeh effects in particular.

It's good..but complicated
3 of 3 found this helpful The unit has great benefits if you have high-end EF lenses that you want to use to get pro film results: particularly highly detailed images that Canon EF lenses are famous for, beautiful bokah, and the benefit of added stops to be able to play with light, especially low light situations that you do not want to try and push a camera's ISO. So, there are multiple benefits, and the quality of the glass and construction are excellent.
HOWEVER: apparently a recent firmware update for the Speed Booster has sent the electronics into a tizzy when used with the Panasonic GH4; adjusting the aperture may cause the camera to completely lock, requiring you to remove the camera's battery as the only way to unlock it from the hang. There's no complete rhyme or reason when or why it will happen, and people mentioning it on discussion boards have reported no help from Metabones.
So, I cannot recommend it without great caution, as you might be in the middle of a shot and the camera will completely lock. I haven't dared to use it with the YAGH, as that required taking the unit partially apart just to get it to fit a lens on, and I don't want to keep plugging in and unplugging the unit.
