TP-Link RE 305 Dual Band WiFi Range Extende - Brand New
    Jul 13, 2018
    Let There Be WiFi
I thought it would be easy to connect a TP-Link Range Extender to a TP-Link Router—and it was. Press a button on the router and another on the extender and the device sets itself up in a few minutes. Unfortunately while the router and the extender connected with each other I couldn’t get the extended network to connect to my devices. Fortunately TP-Link’s Tech Support is excellent. I got a quick response back on my email with a solution that actually worked. This involved upgrading the firmware (kind of scary ‘cause if something goes wrong… I shudder to think…) and running Setup manually from a web browser. It also involved a lot of crawling around on the floor messing with cables—a chore I was really hoping to avoid. None-the-less, I now have WiFi where I never had it before. Like all the way out the back door to the far end of the yard. Not sure that I’ll ever need WiFi in the outback, but it’s really nice to have it in my kitchen—previously a notorious dead zone. To help you find the ideal location to site the extender there’s a nifty little app you can download called the TP-Link Tether, which also lets you monitor the status of all your TP-Link devices. Although I had some initial difficulties getting the extender set up, in the end I’m very pleased with the RE305’s performance. I now get a nice strong signal everywhere in my house. No more dropped connections. I dinged the RE305 one star only because it was more frustrating and complicated to set up out of the box than it should have been. And also because I had to assign the extended networks different names from the host networks in order to connect to my devices, which necessitates manually switching networks when I move to a part of the house not well served by the router. I would have liked the extended network to seamlessly pick up the connection where the router left off. But it’s a minor inconvenience and an acceptable trade off to have WiFi everywhere.

Canon EOS Shoulder Bag Case 100ES 9320A023 for SLR Camera & Lenses (Black)
    Nov 04, 2017
    Perfect Little Camera Bag
This bag is intended for a small DSLR like the EOS Rebel T6 but I bought it for my Canon Powershot SX60 which is a large bridge camera and roughly the same size. It has two well padded compartments, one for the camera and the other intended for a second lens. I use it to stash my accessories, so the bag works perfectly for the Powershot. But since there are no additional pockets for accessories it might not work as well for DSLR owners with more than one lens. The bag is fairly compact and has a nice handle on top as well as a shoulder strap that can be folded inside when not in use. My only complaint is that the latch is a little stiff and requires some force to press it open, but certainly not a deal breaker. Over all, a very nice little bag for the money.
GRIFFIN A-Frame Silver Aluminum Stand for Amazon Kindle Fire HD 7" & 8.9" NEW
    Nov 08, 2016
    Sleek And Sturdy
This heavy-weight aluminum tablet stand not only looks good, it's sturdy and substantial enough to hold my 10.1" Samsung Galaxy Tab A in both landscape and portrait orientations without budging. The stand is well padded with soft plastic where it needs to be to keep the metal from scratching the tablet and table top. The viewing angle is perfect. Overall very well made with just one minor complaint. I found the edges, which are about 1/8th" thick, to be a little rough in spots, but a few minutes with a sheet of extra-fine sandpaper took care of that. Just what I was looking for. Love it!
