Keep out of reach of children who are reckless with their toys.
Entertaining but very fickle and lacks weapon storage on the bot mode. This and it’s mold mate, Ratchet, could’ve used less articulation in some areas to improve how they conform into their vehicle alt-modes because even when slightly misaligned; they do not want to conform well into those modes and they’re already quite fickle. Funny how the vintage Gobot Creepy is like some mutant Lobster that has a much better mold than many of the new Transformers figures being churned out so much causing an untold amount of money from both investors and consumers to be wasted. And what is with the ‘battle damaged’ Studio Series Ironhide and Prowl? I’m surprised Hasbro and Takara Tomy were even allowed to release those. Even more so that they didn’t show the ‘after math’ of Ironhide’s final struggle against Megatron in the film. To many twisted things being released for kids to play with nowadays like FNAF..

Great product! Minor issue’s.
Excellent product that needs little updating. It would’ve been nice if the early Orion Pax version was just Optimus Prime that went Power Master. The Titan’s Return molds certainly fell short. My only complaints about are is how the Star Crest is stored in the trailer, the combined robot lower arms are hollow and hands lack hand rotation, and the smaller robots hip joints are very fickle and are more prone to breaking and possibly even snapping off a piece of the smaller robots head given how it plugs into the legs for vehicle mode. But still a much better figure with Nemesis Prime rivaling it. This is the mold that should’ve been used for a proper Power Master Optimus Prime and Ginrai/ Jinrai hands down! All that was needed was some fine tuning in the areas that needed improvement and that was it! The combined mode shoulders are also drastically improved on this Star Convoy! No doubt because of there being shoulder mounted cannons over smoke stacks. But even the smoke stack bit could have been improved on in other ways. There may rumor of a Titan Sized Star Convoy, but the draw of this having a mix of the G1 design with a more proper Power Master look along with the Star Convoy look make this worthwhile. Just wish the smaller robot hips were better reinforced and the combined robots lower arms were filled in a little and with hands that could actually rotate around like the Rodimus Prime mold. How is it the PotP’s ‘Evolution’ Rodimus has hands that can rotate in its Power Master mode and not this mold!?

Legacy Core fail. Better options exist.
I like the design somewhat. But I know from experience that Hasbro could have done much better. Why do they insist on missing the mark; I do not know. They already have all the inspiration in the world from past successes and failures. They might as well the Machine Robo/ Gobots Monsterous set molds for the Dinobots. At least then the designs could have possibly been more solid. So much pegging and so on. And poor Grimlock is made a foot that may as well be nicknamed “Happy McFlappy” since Hasblown couldn’t at least his Grim so his Dino modes upper torso could conform better to keep from the lower part of the foot from dangling either out of the blue after being picked up or when bending Volcanicus’ knee. I’m scared Hasbro will only decline more and more. How could they release masterpiece’s like the G2 Hero Optimus Prime (Sureshot) and miss the mark of various others? Especially newer figures. Even the plastic isn’t the same. Alone; Sludge looks ok but flimsy. Easily made up for in combiner mode however. But, still angry Grimlock isn’t the upper torso. Especially since there’s no guarantee this set will be retooled for Dinoking nor released globally even if the set were. Even if it meant raising the count of Dinobots to seven. I feel keeping Slash and making Grim and Swoop form the upper torso with Sludge the lower torso. Then Slag/ Slug and Slash as arms (with better hands) and Snarl with Scarr as legs and feet; this could have been several times better. Especially if they used the old 1980’s Pretender’s Grimlock for a little bit of inspiration crossed with the G1 themed. And even as just six Dinobots; Sludge could have formed an arm with his old style tail forming a melee weapon. Hasbro should try aiming for simple designs with fewer accessories. Had Bandai and Tonka not left Puzzler half finished; it would be the crowned king of all combiners even to this day! But watch Bandai ruin that one should they ever remake them.. Point is; stick with the classic. Do your research and get the best you can find. It’s not worth blowing money on anything you need third party upgrades for to patch up if there are any patches. Haven’t seen one for this sets poor Grimlock to help him hold as a foot.
