Great tablet at a great price
As a long time user of the iPad Air 2 and having loved using it for daily reading of news, playing games (mostly the kids) and also the odd bit of DJing. Having given the previous one to the kids I thought I would go for a model with larger storage of 128Gb so I can keep more movies and music without having to mess around with moving things on and offf.
This version has the added benefit of 4G LTE capability as well for when I need it on the go but still need to test this out. Have been through various iOS updates and haven’t seen any issues with slowdowns. In fact, iOS11 with a Bluetooth keyboard would be a great replacement for many laptops and great for many University students. After seeing the planned updates I went and bought myself a keyboard and have been very pleased with how this works with the new Files apps and updates to Keynote, Pages etc. on how easy it is to use it for real work.
Highly recommended and hopefully with new iPad iOS updates this will only become more useful over time.
Shame it can’t support AR!

Fastest iPad with better screen and audio
1 of 1 found this helpful Having had the iPad Air 2 for more than 5 years now it was starting to show its age with some slow downs and with one of the kids having the better screen of the iPad Air 4th gen I finally decided to go for the iPad Pro instead of the air for a little bit extra. I have been impressed by the responsiveness and speed of carrying out typical browsing and reading tasks with everything snappy.
I have also taken advantage of the LiDAR Scanner to scan some rooms of the house for diy renovation projects with a free piece of software on the App Store (also options for IKEA etc. for home decorating) which was really straightforward to capture and generate 3D models as well as measurements. Something I couldn’t have done with the new Air.
Watching movies and tv series is a much improved experience with the 4 stereo speakers sounding pretty decent with much better bass.
So far I haven’t tried to use a keyboard and mouse to see how it is as a laptop replacement which would (or should) be an option for many people. support for mice and keyboards and now with office software easily available this should be a more portable option for many. The files app has also improved but still not as flexible as on macOS but still more than usable for creating folders and files and navigating around.
The lack of some pro apps such as Logic Pro and Final Cut Pro etc. may still out people off but there are a huge variety of apps and I’m sure in time the additional power of the pro will be used by some of the professional apps.
All in all a great machine with a lot of power on the go.
