In-depth summary of prayer, aid to growth no matter how long you've been at it
Tim Keller starts at the very beginning with defining prayer, clarifying different types. That's helpful, especially if you're just starting out. He's honest about how hard daily prayer is to establish as a habit. He uses content from great authors before him, Augustine, Luther, Calvin, and Owen. He examines the Lord's Prayer, and how we can use it every day without it ever losing freshness. This book is changing me. I don't agree with Keller on every point, but even when I disagree, I'm better for having thought it through. I'm glad I bought rather than borrowed it. I will probably reread it every ten years. That's the highest compliment I can give.
