Stone is seductive
Jesse Stone has some annoying habits, and unfortunate character flaws. Having said that, he is a detective I would want working for me. I would also hang out with him, expecting that the recipe for our conversations would include few words and long times of silence. Hallmark bleeps the saltier language, and personally, I could do without the sexual encounters. For that reason, I'm a bit surprised the Hallmark channel airs the Stone series. Columbo did alright keeping his pants on. Also, this series might be dangerous for alcoholics, and for those with any addiction to substances they might use to deal with quietness or loneliness. Nevertheless, most of his time is devoted to step-by-step police work solving the serious crimes of each episode while simultaneously lending life-altering helping hands to weak or damaged citizens (often young girls) he encounters during his routine patrols. It is well acted, well photographed, moves at a small town pace, succeeds without CGI chases and explosions, and is well appointed with other interesting characters (good and bad). I await the next (2017) adventure.
