MOSKY Horse Guitar Effect Pedal Overdrive Guitar Pedal Full Metal Shell True F4

    A little too cheap
For the price, this is a decent low-gain boost. But it suffers from a somewhat harsh treble response and is overall less transparent and than other klones I have heard. But if you're on a tight budget, it will get the job done. Just don't expect Klon-quality.
Monoprice 15 Watt, 1x12 Guitar Combo Tube Amplifier With Celestion Speaker

Incredible value, but some mods should be done
Very good out of the box. I was lucky and got it with a Celestion A-type speaker, which is a teriffic speaker, clearly superior the stock Celestion Seventy-80. The reverb is nothing to write home about, so I swapped it with a three-spring MOD unit. Much better sound, but still a bit weak. I fixed this by changing the reverb potentiometer with one of higher value (22K instead of 10K, I think), which increased the reverb volume quite a bit, and maybe the decay time too. Stock, this amp breaks up way, way, way too early. Gain above 2 is heavily distorted, even with single coils. So I changed the preamp tubes. 12AY7 instead of 12AX7 in V1, 5751 instead in V3. I put a 5751 in V2 too, but this probably doesn't do much soundwise. Now the amp is reasonably clean up to 4 with single coils. The gain level is still more than enough on the last half of its range, and much sweeter sounding. I also changed the cheap output tubes for some NOS Russian military-spec units, which is much less noisy and sweeter sounding than the stock units. After these inexpensive mods, this little amp sounds incredible. More British than American, but damned good. This is not a good amplifier for the price, it is a good amplifier, period.

AROMA AGF-3 G-FUZZ Vintage Germanium Fuzz Analogue Guitar Effect Pedal K6Z1

    Great fuzz for little money
This is a well-built and nice-sounding fuzz pedal. It sounds pretty similar to a Fuzz Face. Used with no buffers before it, the pedal greatly cleans up when reducing guitar volume just a bit. Not a wild, uncontrollable fuzz in any way; chords and even quite close voicings sound acceptable with no crazy ring-modulation going on, and the tail is rather even and non-sputtery. If put after a buffered pedal, it becomes even milder and less fuzzy, sounding closer to a RAT-type distortion. It is also much better driven by a single-coil signal, a typical humbucker sound will be too mellow and polite, at least for my taste. It will, of course, also not clean up from the guitar volume pot. This box really needs a high-impedance signal. The box seems solid enough, and the metal bar is a nice touch. The lack of a battery compartment makes the pedal very small (which might or might not be a good thing), making it possible to sell it at a very low price. The only thing I dislike, is the volume control. It is tiny, and unreadable on-stage. But I will usually not touch it during a gig, so not the greatest of problems. The G-fuzz could be your only fuzz pedal, if you like smooth, easily controllable fuzz. But put it first in your chain.
