Nikon AF PROGRAMMABLE chip. Full control lens over the camera! Dandelion! NEW!
    Jun 06, 2018
makes old lenses easier to use
This is one of those products that only has value to a few people, but those few are very grateful that it exists. If you like using manual-focus lenses, the Dandelion will help even if your camera already supports them natively; and if you have a lower-end camera like a D3400, this chip will let you use such lenses with full metering support. For the higher-end bodies, it will free you from the need to enter and select non-CPU lens data, and it'll provide a few other nice features that AF lenses have (though not, of course, autofocus itself!). My only gripe is that the chip is slow and finicky to program. This is because there's a lot of waiting involved, and if your attention flags during the critical second when you have to press the shutter releae4 to set a value, you have to wait for it to come around again. If you enter the wrong value by mistake you'll have to start over. But you only have to program it once, and then you will enjoy its benefits forever! I do wish it came with a set of shims for lenses that have too much space between the light baffle and the bayonet. As it is, you have to improvise shims for these lenses.

4 PCS Camera Strap Triangle Split Lug Ring-Fujifilm Lecia Nikon Canon D-SLR RF
    May 25, 2017
thinner gauge than OEM but okay
These split rings are of a thinner gauge than the ones that Nikon supplies. Have not measured them, but estimate the difference to be about 25%. Still, they should be strong enough to last indefinitely, as long as you don't put an inordinate amount of tension on them. For example, I wouldn't want to swing a D5 with a Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 lens from these rings. But for more ordinary loads, these should be fine.
    (Made in metal) AF 80-200 2.8D MA M A M-A Ring For Nikon AF 80-200mm f/2.8D ED
    May 13, 2020
    superior replacement for OEM part
This metal M-A ring for the AF Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8D two-touch zoom lens is of excellent quality. The metal is light, but sturdy. The painted finish, while not an exact match for the crinkle finish of the lens's barrel, looks far better than the shiny plastic of the OEM plastic part. This well-made replacement should last a very long time. My only complaint is that the "M A" lettering is somewhat offset to the left. When the ring is turned all the way left to the locked "A" position, the letter "A" is about 5 millimeters to the left of the position indicator arrow. (See photo.) It's not a big deal.
