Would be 5-Stars if manual was better written.
1 of 1 found this helpful This is my first 4K player and it does indeed provide upscaling of most content. (Specs say USB video would not be upscaled and I did not try it.)
Setup was simple. Just followed the prompts. All of my favorite apps are available from the Samsung app store once you create a Samsung account.
While I like the remote with its minimilistic approach, meaning it is not covered in a myriad of buttons, it would have been nice to have a remote which included even a small keyboard for typing in login data.
However, the USB port does support a remote keyboard (not a wired keyboard), so I have one on order.
All in all, I am very happy with this purchase. The only difficulty I ran into was in programming the TV buttons on the remote, I finally called Samsung support and even though the tech tried to convince me that I would not be able to control my Sceptre TV with the Samsung remote, I argued that the manual said I could and it even included a page of TV codes. (My 65" Sceptre UHD TV uses Sony codes.)
After the Samsung tech finally openned the manual to the same page, he was able (in a round-about sort of way) to help me understand the manual: To type in numeric codes, you must use some of the few existing buttons on the remote while referencing a diagram in the manual which maps the buttons, but does not clearly indicate thus.
I typed in the 2-digit code and I can now control the TV volume and power.
Buyng this particular blu-ray player from Buydig saved me $70 compared to BJ's sale price.
So I am quite happy.
BTW, I always use a wired internet connection for streaming, so I do not need a WiFi connection for this DVD player and am glad the price reflects the lack of Wifi.

Better than expexted
