A Must-Have
I bought an antenna that covers all amateur bands from 40M - 10M. Its multi-band "Top Hat" design proved to require a lot of cutting.
The first thing I did was to assemble the antenna and record its natural resonance on all bands - the numbers were all very low. So, even finding a starting point using my rig would not have been possible, as my rig band-restricted. Also, its not really good ham manners to key-down on a frequency over and over to tune an antenna.
The MFJ 269C made it all happen - A great investment with features that go well beyond initial antenna tuning.
