I have had the older model Scallions in the past. I sadly lost my older Scallion recently and replaced it with this newer model. Though the blade is just a sharp as older models, the Speedsafe assisted opening is not as strong as my older models. Still a great knife, I still have an older model stashed away, and sent in an older model with a broken tip, to Kershaw for a $10 blade replacement. Love this knife!
