Olympus Pen E-PL1
Looking for large image sensor and great image quality in a light camera body. Needed electronic viewfinder to help see image better and judge exposure and white balance. Wanted top-quality long zoom lens, but wanted interchangeable lenses to take advantage of lenses for Nikon SLRs. Wanted waist level finder.
For above reasons, chose Micro Four Thirds system. Wanted image stabilization in camera body, which calls for Olympus and not Panasonic. Also, had bad experiences with Panasonic digicams.
Very happy with choice of E-PL1 and later choice of 14-150 Zuiko zoom lens.

Not only for contacts
My optometrist's wife recommends this as the best natural tears eye drops. He gave me a sample. It felt so good that I ordered more. And I don't wear contacts. I simply have dry eyes like many others.

Lightweight superzoom camera - Canon Powershot S5 Is
After reviews, waited until late in the product life, then bought used from a trustworthy seller.
Good choice for people who want a long zoom, image stabilization, swing-out LCD monitor, versatile automation, electronic finder, and hot shoe.
Added numerous accessories to increase the uses of the camera. Finding it to be light and small, compared to other superzoom models.
Surpassed by the latest models, which are also much more expensive ... but that's always the case. Very pleased with choice.
