Always good quality
I try to always buy Sony disks, as they seem to be the best quality of any I have used. There are a couple other good brands, but the cheaper brands are usually not worth it.

Easy to Assemble; needs a little painting to look great; Company support outstanding
Very easy and fast to assemble. Looks better if you paint the trim around the windows, as the building is molded totally in white plastic. You also need to paint the chimney and stove pipe. Other than the name of the store, there is only one sign included, the Coke sign. This looks better if you add some additional signs to the side, which is what I did. Very basic little building, but easy for a beginner to assemble. Support from the company that makes it (Micro Engineering) is top notch. I had questions and they helped me out a lot. Chances are you won't have any questions on this, as it is very easy to put together. Minimal painting to really make it look better.

Same basic building as several others
This is an okay kit, but is basically the same building that is used in several other kits. This same base building is used for a hardware store, an undertaker and a 2-story house kit and probably a couple of other structures as well. The various kits are sold by several different makers including Walthers, Tyco, ConCor, AHM and Model Power. The only difference in the kits is the add-ons. This one has the double porch and a side shed. The problem that I ran into with this kit is that it includes a single story addition that is supposed to attach to the back. It does not work for this kit and the instructions are incorrect. Also, the side shed shows windows and doors in the picture on the box, but no windows or doors are provided for it. Assembly is fairly easy, but was confused a couple time because parts are not numbered. If you already have the Walthers Two Story House Kit, the F.C. Rode Hardware Store or the E. Snatchem Undertaker, you probably have the exact same basic building. This particular building must have been licensed to a lot of different vendors. To make each one different, they just added extras to it. Guess I can't blame manufacturers for using many of the same kit parts, as it is expensive to create new models, but I was disappointed that I already had the same basic building in another kit. Painting is not necessary, but it does enhance it somewhat. Not difficult to assemble, but for a rooming house, you could probably do better, although undoubtedly would pay more for a better model kit.
