Lightweight With Good Illumination
The magnifier is lightweight, easy to hold and the lights are nice and bright on full illumination. I found that you have to be careful how you hold it and the distance from the page, so that it doesn't blur the print. I thought the lens would be glass, but it's not and that could be the reason for easy blurring. The one feature I felt was really lacking is the battery compartment. I actually had to use a hand-held magnifying glass to make out the polarity symbols in the compartment! And even then it was guesswork. Also, the cover to the battery compartment was very hard to remove, and arthritic hands will have a struggle removing it. Once the batteries were installed, it was equally difficult to get the compartment cover back on. The value of this item is okay given the price, but I wouldn't want to pay any higher a price for it. It's a good item for magnifying an entire page of a book and I am keeping the item.
