Decent all-around cell phone
Call adio quality sounds good, with clarity. Menus are intuitive and functional, although shortcuts are limited to just four. Importing MP3's are a breeze if you have a data cable or Bluetooth dongle and software like Bitpim, or just use a card reader and copy/paste. Install the card in your phone first so it gets formatted properly (it creates folders). The MP3 player works well enough, and the built in speakers suffice for transistor radio-like quality. I have purchased several different headphone adapters and none seem to work well, if they even worked at all. The plug inserts to a special depth, so getting a standard 4 ring plug to work is a bit tricky, and the volume is low. The LG adapter might play better. I have not tried playing songs through Bluetooth stereo headphones, so I can't speak on the performance there, but I'm sure the headphones will play a big part on how good the sound is.
I had some nits to pick on this phone when I first purchased it. One was that the speakerphone won't work unless the clam is open. I guess use a headset and forget the speaker, although that feature does work well and comes in handy when you have your hands full and and you've forgotten to charge your headset (Doh!). Another is audible alerts. You only get one for voicemail and text messages, but none for missed calls. Apparently for some, having this feature was an annoyance, but I say let me decide whether to turn it on or off. And the third is that a special cable is required for data transfer. I liked my old Moto with its mini USB. The charger/dataport are one, and so far my wife has dinged up two chargers to the point where they no longer work. It's a clumsy and awkward fit, and one must be careful and deliberate to insert it correctly at the proper angle, or eventually the charger stops connecting well enough to charge. This is actually her 2nd phone, as she left her first on top of her car and drove off. She stopped after hearing it tumble down the roof and hood, but it apparently bounced right into traffic and under the wheels of a passing car. It did not survive, hence the reason for this purchase.
All in all, I guess I like this phone well enough that I bought a replacement. Maybe that's an endorsement, or my being stupid and not researching other phones to upgrade to. Naw, I'm happy with it.

Sweet little camera
2 of 2 found this helpful Bought this for my wife Christmas '07, and a 4g SD card. Awesome picture quality in normal, everyday use. Great point-and-shoot, no fooling around if you don't want to. For close-ups, you may want to tweak some settings however. I found that focusing was a bit of a challenge for this little guy on close-up items, so you may want to go manual if you plan on using it for things like that. I haven't used it on any real action shots, so I can't speak on that type of performance. There are many, MANY ways to customize your shots, from ISO and color to size and such. I couldn't sort out how to customize the flash, however. I was assuming that there was a 'Fill' setting aside from on and off, but maybe there's supposed to be a sensor for that. Anyway, some shots seemed over-flashed and a bit washed out. Maybe that is a sub-menu that only functions when in a different mode. Some features only come on-line when you put the camera in different modes, and maybe this is where I'm missing the boat. I haven't had much time to play with all the settings, so the flash feature might still be hiding in there somewhere.
The ability to capture video is outstanding! The picture quality is amazing considering movies is not this camera's main objective. This camera even came with a video cable to plug into your yellow & white video plugs on the front of your TV or VCR. How handy is that?! Keep in mind that the amount of video captured is relative to your memory card. My 4g could store up to 30 minutes, without a lot of pictures on it already. Also, consider getting the 'faster' cards if you want to shoot video. My card seemed to run into a buffering problem after shooting about 12 minutes of video. After that segment, I tried to record another on but no dice. Also, any subsequent pictures were unreadable by the camera or PC. I had to off-load the movie and clear the card out and start from scratch. Luckily, there were only three or four photos taken after the video, so I didn't lose anything important, like blowing out candles or leprechauns.
The charger set-up is mixed. One must remove the battery to charge it. It will not charge (from what I could tell) when it's hooked up to the included USB cable. But the charger is a mere 2 X 3.25 X.75 inches (identical the camera's dimensions), and the plug blades fold into the unit so they don't poke things in your purse or stab your leg. Very compact and will fit into all but the tiniest of camera bags. A great solution to the 'wall wart' and six feet of tangled wire. The 'must remove battery to charge' feature is probably to keep camera size down, since there is no battery charging circuitry inside the camera. So, I guess that is a good trade-off. My only concern is needing to open the camera every time to remove the battery. There is a life expectancy on mechanical things, and the more times you open that door, the greater the chance there is of breaking it off or just wearing out, especially if your ham-fisted (clumsy).
I love this camera, my wife loves this camera, her daughter loves this camera. It's easy to use, has lots of great features, and most importantly, it takes AWESOME pictures!

Bright light
Produces good light, chose to pair it with a dimmable power supply, not the supplied on/off supply. Color rendering seems fair, hard to tell w/6.5k white. Would have gotten 5 stars if available w/dimmable ps.
