Been wanting one for years
When the Mini came out, it looked like an excellent solution for someone who doesn't need a laptop, ore already a desktop, perhaps with a KVM to allow switching among them. This unit is extremely compact, low-energy, quiet, and was awesomely capable at the time. This is the last one with an optical drive; I need to research whether the next two models have empty drive bays (after 2014, the expansion capabilities of 2010-2012 were taken out of the unit).
This model can be expanded to 8 or 16 GB RAM, and the HD is relatively easily accessible. I would like a 2011 model, but the price is just a bit beyond my perceived ability at the moment. The 2010 model hits the sweet spot between capabilities and cost; it meets or exceeds all my anticipated needs.
