Little-Known Treasures
One thing no one ever seems to be able to easily research are the small fortresses and castles of our youth.
The knights and siege engines are moderately well-known, but the castles surely aren't, and this book lifts much of that veil on the earlier fortresses.
It's a good value for that, and should be included in your reference library.

Beautifully laid-out - excellent color illustrations - in-depth text - it illuminates a heretofor little-known aspect of that dangerous job, and the tools supplied.
